Awards Entry Copywriting Questions
Will a professionally written entry guarantee success?
Nope. But it will make your case stronger. That’s because I write persuasively and clearly. I’ll tell the judges how you met the criteria in simple, unbiased language that puts the focus on the facts, not the fluff.
For the record, I’ve helped several talented individuals scoop awards or be listed as highly commended.
How long does an awards entry take to write?
The entries themselves don’t take long. What does take time is gathering all the relevant information and placing it into a compelling structure.
I suggest a 2-week turnaround from full brief to final document. If you want to enter an award tomorrow and you’re only just thinking of briefing me, then it’s a no-can-do I’m afraid.
Will you edit an awards entry I’ve written?
I won’t edit an entry you have written but I can use your draft as part of my briefing process.
How will you write in a way that sounds like me?
The emphasis in awards entries is not humour, entertainment or anything else fun… it’s about presenting facts clearly. For that reason, I tend not to let branding guidelines influence my writing here. If you believe tone of voice is important, then we can find a way to represent it.
What if I’m not happy with the awards entry you’ve written?
I’ll be taking the information you give me and applying it to the (normally strict) criteria of the judging panel. This doesn’t tend to leave too much room for error. But if you think I’ve left something out or (ooops) you forgot to tell me about something, then tell me and I’ll do what I can to get the entry on track.
I allow one round of edits for awards entries.
How much do you charge to write an awards entry?
There’s quite a lot of variety in award entry formats. So for this reason I quote on a case-by-case basis.
But as a guideline, my prices begin at £75 per entry.
Can you book me in?
Yes! Get in touch with me and we’ll get started!
